Every piece is made to order in Johannesburg. Shipments depart for New York on a regular schedule, and once landed, U.S. delivery typically takes about a week.

Standard delivery is curbside, with white-glove service available on request.

Because each piece is made to order, returns aren’t accepted unless an item arrives damaged or faulty — if so, contact us within 7 days and we’ll resolve it quickly.

The Paradise Coffee Table explores the tension between sharp and soft, straight and curved. A geometric powder-coated steel base meets a rounded solid wood tabletop, creating a striking contrast between organic and geometric form. From every angle, its proportions shift subtly, giving the piece a sculptural, ever-changing presence.

Available in three sizes and custom colours, this designer coffee table doubles as a statement table, equally at home in expressive living spaces and pared-back interiors. Because of the sizing options, the Paradise Table also works beautifully in pairs-  think of them as nesting tables without the cliché. Play with height, scale and placement to create your own layered landscape.

Its versatility extends beyond form-  whether used as a conversation table, low table, or accent piece, it becomes a quiet centre of gravity in the space.

Crafted with care and intention, the Paradise is more than a coffee table. It’s a lounge table with personality, a living room table that balances function and feeling, and a custom coffee table that invites interpretation. Bold, grounded, and distinctively composed, it’s a celebration of thoughtful design.

Founded in 2007 by industrial designer Adriaan Hugo and graphic designer Katy Taplin, Dokter and Misses is a Johannesburg-based multi-disciplinary design studio. Born from a shared vision of functional artistry, we make furniture, lighting, and objects that challenge conventions and reinterpret everyday forms.

When will my order be ready?

Most of our pieces are made to order. Standard production takes about 6 weeks, followed by 4 weeks shipping from South Africa and 3–5 business days final delivery within the U.S.Sometimes we have products or components in stock that can shorten this timeline. If you’re working toward a deadline, let us know and we’ll see what’s possible.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If you need to adjust your order, please reach out as soon as possible. Once production has started, changes or cancellations may not be possible.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please inspect your piece when it arrives. If it’s damaged or incorrect, let us know within 7 days at sales@dokterandmisses.com, with:

  • A photo of the issue
  • A photo of the packaging
    This helps us resolve the matter quickly.

Do you accept returns?

Because each item is made to order, we don’t accept returns or exchanges unless your order is damaged or incorrect.

How is delivery handled?

Standard delivery is roadside. If you’d like white-glove service (inside placement, unpacking, or installation), let us know at checkout or by email.If your address has limited access (stairs, narrow roads, gates, etc.), please tell us in advance so we can plan accordingly.
